The new Plastecnic project : “re-use RE-LOVE”
Plastecnic a leader in the production of outdoor and indoor plants pots, presents the new project “re-use RE-LOVE”. The goal is to increase the use of recycled plastic from separate collection of waste till 80% of it by the next 10 years. The” heart” of this goal is in the use of recycled plastic materials, provided by EuCertPlast certified Companies.
The Company has been engaged for more than 55 years in environmentally friendly choices and it is a leader Company in theme of environmental respect. Thanks to the EuCertPlast European certification, there is now a very clear message about sustainability while the “plastic” world in general is very unclear. The recycling chain must comply with precise rules like traceability procedures and low environmental impact processes: in such a way plastic is recyclable again and it generates a virtuous circular economy.
With the “re-use - RE-LOVE” project, Plastecnic engages in a long and complex work of research. In order to keep its quality excellence level, the Company must study for each type of pot the right mix of recycled plastic and virgin row material. Continuous production tests are required in order to ensure the maximum technical performance, resistance to environmental agents and long-lasting items.
The respect of nature means for Plastecnic the equal combination of quality of the final product together with a concrete sustainability. Since the beginning, the Company has been working for a “green” mission. From investments in low-CO2 emissions machineries to new generation machineries with energy savings up to 30%. From “zero-kilometer” production to regenerated plastic packaging, to the new adiabatic cooling system that saves 2 million liters of water per year.
Since 2014 Plastecnic has launched a line of 100% recycled plastic pots from industrial waste (pre-consumption). Now the next step is to employ recycled plastic coming from post-consumers with the goal to reduce waste and environmental pollution.
